Want all the benefits of a far infrared sauna but short on space? Higher Dose has you covered (quite literally).  We’ve been eyeing this far infrared sauna blanket for quite some time and wanted to see if it was worth the hype.

If you’re unfamiliar with the benefits of infrared, these saunas are a fantastic way to detoxify the body. Just one session can help relax the mind, boost your mood, promotes glowing skin, and even stimulates your brain’s feel-good chemicals give you that natural high. Another added benefit? You can burn upwards of 600 calories in just one sweaty session (without moving a muscle.) No matter if you’re healthy as ever or struggling with any autoimmune condition, far infrared rays are fantastic for deep, intracellular healing and opening your detox pathways.

We received our Higher Dose infrared sauna blanket a little while ago, and let’s just say we’re hooked on it. Here are our top four reasons why we love our infrared sauna blanket.

Our Honest Higher Dose Review

It’s great for any space

If you live in a tight space (we’ve all been there) the walk-in sauna just isn’t going to work.  The Higher Dose lies flat and is the size of a sleeping bag, so you can store it under your bed when you’re not using it (which is what we do), fold it up and put it on your closet shelf, or anywhere else you can fit basically a folded, fluffy comforter.  It’s soft-shell design makes it easy to store.  No matter what, the Higher Dose infrared sauna blanket won’t clutter your life or space. higher dose review

One of big drawbacks to a traditional walk-in sauna is the fact your kind of stuck using it in the one spot it’s been assembled.  Not with the Higher Dose. One of the best features of the Higher Dose blanket is that you can use it virtually anywhere you have a power outlet.  You can use it lying in bed, on the floor, or the couch.  Got a power outlet? You’re good to go.  We like to set up shop with a nice full view of the TV while we binge New Girl for the 1000th time on Netflix.

It’s *more affordable* than a spa

Here’s the thing – anything related to bettering your health is generally worth spending money on, and typically you get what you pay for. But shelling out $40 a sauna session at a wellness spa isn’t something most people can afford on a regular basis. And if you’re looking at purchasing a traditional infrared saunas for your home, expect them to run in the thousands, depending on size.

Higher Dose? Their sauna blankets are (relatively) wallet-friendly, running you about $599 – a fraction of the cost with all of the same benefits. They also offer payments in 4 and you can also get $50 off with code LF50.

It will make you SWEAT like a regular sauna

Just because it’s technically a “blanket” doesn’t make this sauna work any less than your traditional walk-in. Higher Dose’s sauna blanket has 7 different heat levels that you can adjust the blanket to, whether you want a little warm up or a full-blown sweat sesh.  We love to crank ours up to the highest setting and within a few minutes our face is covered in beads of sweat.

It’s an invaluable wellness tool

One major key to overall health is having functional detox pathways – and sweating plays a major role in your body’s detox process.

While physical movement gets your lymphatic system moving and your blood flowing, sweating is what helps to move waste out of the body. Multiple studies show that heavy metals like arsenic, lead, and mercury can be detoxed through sweat.

No matter where you are in your wellness journey, having the option to do a sauna treatment from the comfort of your own home is invaluable.

A few cons…

Ok, so now a couple cons of the Higher Dose blanket because it wouldn’t be an honest review otherwise.

The first drawback (and please this is purely a personal preference, so you may not think this is a bad thing at all) is that you have to wear clothes while using it, like sweatpants, sock, and a long sleeve shirt.  Which of course some may find uncomfortable (because you are sweating after all).  I personally like letting it all hang out during a sauna experience so for me this is a negative.

The second drawback of the Higher Dose (which ties into the first) is that the interior of the blanket gets hot.  Hence why you have to wear clothes – to both keep the interior from becoming a nasty sweaty mess, but also to protect your skin from the heating points embedded in the blanket.  In a traditional infrared sauna, the heating points are located across an air space so you don’t have this problem.  Plus, the interiors are typically wood or stone, which doesn’t get nasty from your Niagara Falls-like booty sweat.  Plus ,you can’t really use your arms (since it’s basically a cocoon).

Do we recommend? 100% yes.

All told, the Higher Dose offers a great balance of affordability, versatility and design. It is one of our favorite wellness tools we own and we can happily say we’re getting our moneys worth out of it. It provides all of the healing benefits of far infrared at a fraction of the space-saving cost.  If you’re in the market for a sauna blanket, look no further than Higher Dose.
