It’s no secret that my husband and I have loved Cymbiotika for quite some time now. I’m a big fan of their liposomal packs (a travel must for me), my husband takes the shilajit with his lemon water daily, and we both genuinely love most of the products the brand pushes out.

When they recently announced their new product line, the Cymbiotika Natural Home Essentials Kit, we knew we had to see if the products held up to the hype. With a million greenwashed cleaning products on the market, we took a quick look at the ingredients (spoiler alert – not greenwashed) and wanted to see if they actually worked as well as a few others we’ve been using.

After testing out these products for a few weeks, we wanted to give our honest opinion on the Cymbiotika Natural Home Essentials Kit. Here’s our full product review for you to see if this kit is right for your home and lifestyle.

Product Review: Cymbiotika Natural Home Essentials Kit

The Cymbiotika Natural Home Essentials Kit is a revolutionary range of home products that marries functionality with the brand’s hallmark eco-friendliness and natural ingredients. This kit comes packed with the brand’s four essential home products, each promising to offer a natural, effective solution for daily needs.

Items included in the kit:

1 x Laundry Detergent

1 x Probiotic Hand Soap Kit

1 x Probiotic Hand Lotion Kit

1 x Multi-purpose Cleaner Kit

Here’s a breakdown of each product and our takeaways for each:

Cymbiotika Laundry Detergent

What’s included

1 x silicone measuring cup, 32 oz detergent pouch.

Ingredients

Water (Aqua), Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Potassium Oleate, Glycerin, Potassium Cocoate, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Musa Sapientum (Banana) Fruit Extract, Xanthan Gum, Glycolipids, Sodium/Zinc Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Itaconate Crosspolymer, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Olive Oil Polyglyceryl-6 Esters, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Sodium Cocoyl Apple Amino Acids, Pectate Lyase Enzyme, Potassium Citrate, Amylase Enzyme, Citric Acid, Protease Enzyme, Lipase Enzyme, Mannanase Enzyme, Lavandula Hybrida (Lavandin) Oil

Product Performance

It works surprisingly well for the small amount you need for each wash. It’s effective in keeping fabrics soft and colors vibrant. Not heavily scented, which might be a pro or con depending on your personal preference. We prefer minimal-to-no scent, so this product checked off all the boxes for us.

Cost

$46 for a one-time purchase, $41 if you’re on a monthly subscription. If you’re using 1-2 oz per load, it’ll cost anywhere from $1.43 – $2.87 for each wash.

What we love

This detergent works well. It’s also gentle on the skin, eco-friendly, and great for those with allergies. We also love the light hint of lavender scent – its not too overpowering like other detergents.

What we don’t love

Silicone cup is slightly flimsy and light fragrance may not appeal to all. The cost per wash is also on the more pricey-side when compared to other detergents.

Do we recommend it? Yes – if it’s within your budget.

While Cymbiotika’s laundry detergent is more expensive than your conventional one, non-toxic laundry detergent is one of those products we don’t compromise on. Whether you’re doing laundry daily or not, you’re still using laundry detergent every single day since it is on the clothes you wear.

We’ve been using this detergent to clean linens and clothing we plan on using for our newborn. I’m really particular about the products I’ll be using on my baby, and this formulation is perfect for our household.

One little thing to note is that the silicone cup is slightly flimsy – I accidentally spilled a little bit on my first use. As long as you aren’t as clumsy as I am and use some careful handling, you shouldn’t have an issue using it.

Probiotic Hand Soap Kit

What’s Included:

1x refillable glass + silicone bottle, one soap refill pack.

Ingredients

Water (Aqua), Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Potassium Oleate, Propanediol, Potassium Cocoate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, 1,2-Hexanediol, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Glycerin, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Cocoyl Apple Amino Acids, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Saccharide Isomerate, Hexylene Glycol, Potassium Citrate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Citric Acid, Musa Sapientum (Banana) Fruit Extract, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Lavandula Hybrida (Lavandin) Oil, Sodium Citrate, Iseoicosane, Hansenula/ Kloeckera/ Lactobacillus/ Lactococcus/ Leuconostoc/ Pediococcus/ Saccharomyces/ Fig/ Lemon/ Ferment, Sorbitan Oleate, Cellulose Gum, Chitosan.

Product Performance:

This hand soap lathers extremely well while leaving hands feeling clean, hydrated, and soft – especially in these colder, dryer months. The formulation effectively tackles dirt while still being gentle on our skin.

Cost

$36 for a single purchase, $23.40 for recurring monthly refills.

What we love

This hand soap is moisturizing, cleanses well, eco-friendly. The scent is light and refreshing and not highly fragranced. We love the elevated yet minimal look of the bottle on the countertop, and it also holds a good amount of soap. I also love that it doesn’t have any unnecessary colors or additives.

Things to consider

Pump dispenses too much product, potentially leading to faster usage.

Do we recommend it?

100%. Not only does the soap work well and a have minimal scent, it leaves the hands feeling really hydrated and refreshed. We just recommend not using a full pump – it’ll make the product last longer over time.

Probiotic Hand Lotion Kit

Contents

1x refillable glass + silicone bottle, one hand lotion refill pack.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Polyglyceryl-2 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Lavandula Hybrida (Lavandin) Oil, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Saccharide Isomerate, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Xanthan Gum, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Wax, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Isoeicosane, Hansenula/ Kloeckera/ Lactobacillus/ Lactococcus/ Leuconostoc/ Pediococcus/ Saccharomyces/ Fig/ Lemon/ Ferment, Sorbitan Oleate, Cellulose Gum, Chitosan

Performance

The lotion is soft, light-weight and the scent is clean and not overpowering.

Cost

Kit is $32.50, refill pouches are $28.

What we like:

Silky texture, nourishing, non-greasy. We also love that this is designed to support the skin’s microbiome.

Things to consider

One thing to note – It takes a while to absorb and a little goes a long way. I’ve found that you really need to rub it in and use a little to get the most out of it.

Do we recommend it?

If you’re looking for a non-toxic hand lotion, this is a great option. The scent is minimal and refreshing and you can feel good about the quality of product on your skin.

That being said, my husband and I aren’t necessarily hand lotion “people” (you wont find it sitting on our bathroom vanities) and don’t see ourselves purchasing this again.

Multi-Purpose Cleaner Kit

Contents

Refillable bottle, one cleaner refill pack.

Ingredients:

Water (Aqua), Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Pistacia Lentiscus (Mastic) Gum Water, Coco-Glucoside, Quinic Acid, Glycolipids, Citrus Reticulata (Tangerine) Peel Oil, Citrus Sinensis Peel (Blood Orange) Oil, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Acetic Acid, Olive Oil Polyglyceryl-6 Esters, Citric Acid, Sodium/Zinc Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Itaconate Copolymer, Musa Sapientum (Banana) Fruit Extract, Pectate Lyase Enzyme, Amylase Enzyme, Protease Enzyme, Lipase Enzyme, Mannanase Enzyme

Performance

Excellent for cleaning high-touch surfaces without toxins. This product has the most scent in the entire line, although it’s still not overpowering or “too much” in my opinion. Gentle on most surfaces but requires caution on wood.

Cost

The kit it is $32, refill pouches run at $20.

What we love

Non-toxic, effective cleaning, pleasant aesthetics, and uplifting aroma.

Do we recommend it?

This is probably our favorite product in Cymbiotika’s entire home line. The cleaner works extremely well with cutting grease and counter residue and its pretty enough to leave out on our counter top.

Having a safe, effective and non-toxic multi-purpose cleaner is one of the best investments we regularly make in our household. Keeping the microbiome of our house healthy is what keeps us healthy.

Cymbiotika Home Essentials Kit Review

A few other noteworthy things we love

Eco-friendly design: All bottles are made of glass and silicone. The refillable pouches are very minimal in plastic which helps bring down our household plastic use (a big goal of ours.)

Aesthetics: The bottles are aesthetically pleasing, proving that going ‘clean’ doesn’t mean sacrificing style. We love how minimal and clean they look out on our kitchen island.

Packaging: The eco-friendly packaging and shipping methods are commendable, aligning with Cymbiotika’s brand ethos.

Do we recommend the kit? Yes – here’s why.

Each product in Cymbiotika’s Natural Home Essentials Kit brings something unique to the table, making it a worthy investment for those looking to make their homes greener without compromising on effectiveness.
