I don’t know what it is about the summer; maybe it’s the sun, the trips to the beach, the hot temperatures or our unusual circumstances of a pandemic, but summer truly is the perfect time to play around with smoothie recipes.

So before summer comes to an end, and our pumpkin flavored everything cravings kick in — here’s our green matcha smoothie recipe that is sure to become a staple for every season to come.

So first let’s talk about the details. What is matcha? What does it taste like? What is it good for?

In its most basic definition matcha is basically ground green tea powder. It has a smooth, bittersweet flavor, similar to chocolate. It has a unique taste — one you’d have to try for yourself to really understand. But aside from being completely delicious, matcha has great nutritional value and incredible healing properties.

Matcha is loaded with antioxidants which are essential in disease prevention. Matcha can also enhance your mood, improve your skin and help with concentration. It can rev up the metabolism, lower cholesterol and aid in the detoxification of the body.

If I can’t sell it to you on the flavor alone, then try it for the benefits. Every part of you will thank you for it.
